D. Ferrán Adrià, Spanish chef considered internationally as the best Chef in the world, and included in the list of the 10 most innovative personalities in the world by the magazine TIMES.
As Chef and owner of the restaurant El Bulli, he received the highest gastronomic distinctions, among which are the best restaurant in the world in 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and the award S. Pellegrino for 4 consecutive years, something that no other establishment has achieved so far.
In addition, he has received throughout his extensive career the highest distinctions such as, 3 Michelin stars, 5 gas stations from the guide Campsa, 3 suns from the guide Repsol or a score of 9.75 in the guide Gourmetour.

2007 on June 16th the Documenta 12 art exhibition will be inaugurated, to which Ferran Adrià has been invited. The intervention consists of converting the Bulli restaurant, in cala Montjoi, into the Documenta G pavilion, which is a response to the contextualization of the world of avant-garde cuisine in the world of art.
In December, the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Barcelona awards Ferran Adrià an honorary doctorate, at the proposal of Professor Claudi Mans. 2008 in the month of February two films inspired by the career of Ferran Adrià will be screened at the Berlinale film festival, in the section on culinary cinema.

The University of Aberdeen, in Scotland, at the proposal of Professor Christopher Fynsk, of the Centre for Modern Thought of this institution, has awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities to Ferran Adrià, who is compared, because of his influence, with Picasso and Miró.
The Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit, awarded by the Council of Ministers of Spain and proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recognizes the civil merits of persons who have rendered relevant services for the State with extraordinary works, profitable initiatives or with exemplary constancy in the fulfillment of their duties.
