Disneyland Paris celebra 25 años desde su inauguración, como uno de los reclamos y atractivos turísticos de Europa.
On April 12, 1992, Disneyland Paris opened its doors for the first time to the public. Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and all the other characters from the world of Disney opened the doors to children and adults so the park's features could fill them with magic and fun. The park is located in the region of Marne la Vallée, approximately 35 kilometers from Paris.
There were many negotiations for the Disney theme park to be located in Spain, first in Tarragona and later on in Valencia, with its stronger candidacy. Betting on the sun and its climate, Valencia applied to host the strong, dynamic Eurodisney project, which would have been the second theme park of that franchise, after the majestic one in Orlando. Finally, the negotiations between the Laurent Fabius, Prime Minister of France, and Michael Eisner, President of the Walt Disney Company, tipped toward Paris, with the pull of the monuments of the French capital, and the candidacy swung toward Paris, truncating the possibility of Eurodisney being located in Spain.
In 2017, Disneyland Paris celebrates the 25th anniversary of its inauguration, where the numbers of visitors are very high. More than 300 million visitors have passed through its doors, reaffirming it as one of the most important sites of European tourism.
Currently, the park counts on seven hotels inside its enclosure with a capacity of 5,800 rooms, plus other hotels associated with more than 2,700 rooms. 13.5 million visitors come annually, with the Iberian market comprising a very high percentage of visitors, 10% between Spain and Portugal.
The tourist season and the 25th anniversary celebrations of Disneyland Paris are not only counting on the marvelous world of stories about princesses and Disney characters, but also on attractions like intergalactic journeys with laser swords in the Star Wars factory, as well as their traditional attractions and horseback riding for the enjoyment of families visiting the park. According to the slogan of the Disney corporation, a world where magic comes true.
