THE ILLUSTRATED HOLY BIBLE
HD
There are invitations that leave you frozen. Half a minute after accepting, you realize that it will be a challenge, especially when your name and your being will appear in a sphere that you consider superior to your own. Write something to publish in a Bible! The following is neither prologue, nor introduction, not even a presentation. I can only say what any Christian who sees the word of God made into a book would say: it was made to be read.
For believers, this volume is sacred. In it, God tells us who he is and who we are. He tells us this through human words, through people's stories, wedding songs and the poetry of shepherds, through weeping lamentations and exuberant symbols. God has spoken to us through his Word, which is his son, Jesus of Nazareth: the Old Testament is the path that leads to him. The New Testament, the path that starts from him.
I like a phrase that a priest friend of mine used in his first mass: "There is only one important thing in life, having found Christ for true life." Saint Ignatius of Antioch said it in the 2nd century. Finding Christ, here and now, requires getting closer to the Gospel and the rest of the Holy Scriptures, because - as Saint Jerome wrote - ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.
Reading the Bible peacefully is an incomparable delight. God has spoken and speaks. God reads. And God writes: God the Father wrote the ten commandments with his finger. The Son wrote on the ground in the sand before the woman accused by the teachers of law, and Saint Paul tells us that we are a letter written by Christ, and that the ink is the Holy Spirit. God could have written the Bible by himself. However, since he wants to do everything with us, he did it through human authors who put into writing what he inspired, what was in his mind and heart, and he expressed it through the culture of the time (which is important not to forget). And out of that, came this book that is sweet, as sweet as a Christmas cake. That is also how the Bible ends, with Saint John hearing an angel who tells him to devour a little book that will taste sweet in his mouth, as sweet as honey.
To anyone who considers themselves a non-believer, I would advise him or her to also read the Bible. Not doing it is bad business. I say this without arrogance, but rather as a sign posted at a crossroad, convinced that if you listen to me, you won't ever be able to thank me enough. Without knowing the Bible, I don't think there is a person who can consider himself or herself "very read." Gutenberg started his printing adventure precisely with this book, which is the most often printed and translated in the history of humanity. Without knowing the Bible, you leave the Prado Museum, the Louvre, the Uffizi or the Hermitage without knowing what you have seen. If you go to see the works of Michelangelo, nor will you understand the Sistine Chapel, how to explain the serenity of the Pietà, the movement of David, nor the horns of Moses (pardon me!). You won't know what Handel's choirs are singing, nor will you be able to understand Mozart's Requiem or the musical emotion of Bach's greatest compositions. With the Bible tucked under your arm, you can go see and understand the films of Fellini and Buñuel. Its words are so ours and so within our culture, that we find them in places as unlikely as discotheques almost forty years ago, when young people danced to the sound of Boney M.'s “Rivers of Babylon,” a song that it is nothing more than Psalm 137.
The Bible should be read and should be in every home, each person should have their own. It is the most important book: the most divine and also the most human. No other holy work has as much for humanity as this one, throughout the centuries and millennia: mourn with Job, lament with Jeremiah, laugh with Jonah, become inspired with David, judge wisely with Solomon, seek love with Ruth, take risks with Esther, do your duty like Noah, take responsibility for liberties like Moses.
As Saint John Paul II liked to repeat: "The Holy Scripture, the Bible, is the book of God's works and the words of the living God." He said it once in Chestojova, very close to his beloved Krakow, on the historic World Youth Day. For the first time, young people from the richness of Europe gathered with young people from behind the Iron Curtain. The dream of John Paul II was for a Europe united in its Christian roots, a Europe that, from the Ural Mountains to the Atlantic, proved not to have been a "Wojtyla utopia," but a true reality. And at the feet of the Virgin Queen of Poland, the Pope recalled the Bible, saying of the works and words of God: "We cannot forget them, we have to read them, to reflect on them and make them schools of life." Hopefully, friend, I have convinced you to read the Bible, the Word of God, and to return again and again to its pages with the assurance that, as Saint Gregory the Great advised us, “the Holy Scripture grows with those who read it."

The Shroud
This majestic and exclusive piece is an exact replica of the Holy Shroud, blessed by His Holiness Pope Francis. It is a linen cloth that portrays the image of Jesus Christ, with the evidence of injuries and physical traumas typically inflicted by the Roman Calvary. This exclusive work of the Holy Shroud comes with the luxurious edition of The Illustrated Holy Bible. It is a replica of the cloth that was placed over the body of Christ at the time of his burial, and the face which adorns it represents his Divine Image.
